MINIMUM
Qualifications:
A master's degree in social work, criminal justice, psychology, sociology, counseling, vocational rehabilitation counseling or instruction, in a technical or administrative health field, corrections, penology, biblical or religious studies, theology, divinity or education followed by three years of professional experience in social services, criminal justice, psychology, sociology, counseling, vocational rehabilitation counseling or instruction, health services, health services administration, corrections, penology, ministry, or in the treatment or rehabilitation of offenders.
NOTE:
Experience in which the primary responsibility was custodial or security work will not be considered qualifying.

This position will be filled as a new hire or by Promotion of a Permanent classified employee of the State of Louisiana.

Examples of Work:
Develops, implements, and maintains medical and mental health/social services programs at the correctional facility.
Supervises and coordinates the various professional disciplines of the program(s) through administrative guidance.
Evaluates program effectiveness for quality and quantity of services provided. Revises policies and procedures as indicated to assure program efficiency and continuity.
Determines program requirements of personnel, equipment, materials and supervises preparation of budget requests and expenditure of funds.
Coordinates inter-institutional medical/mental health transfers for re-evaluation at Adult Reception Diagnostic Center.
Exercises clinical and administrative supervision over subordinate social work practitioners.
Directs and coordinates individual therapy, specialized group therapy and supportive counseling with a selected caseload of inmates including monitoring of chemotherapy; participates in on-call schedule as indicated.
Responds to classification system, medical system, security system, and administrative system inquiries with mental health information.
Directs subordinates in the application of social work techniques and practices in the continuing development of clinical skills including crisis intervention/mental health emergencies, clinical observations, and suicide precaution.
Reviews and monitors all cases assigned by caseload manager to subordinates on a routine basis.
Coordinates all psychiatric, neurological, and medical referrals to appropriate personnel as needed and participates in weekly psychiatric staffing with the consulting psychiatrist, psychologists and correctional clinical social workers.
Monitors professional service contracts.
Serves on special disciplinary evaluative, classification and other committees concerned with the custody, care or planning for offenders.
Administers an involved training program for students of a recognized university that have interns with the agency.
Directs and coordinates a complex in-service training program.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
